REGISTRATION NOTE:  Doubleknot is for preregistration only, please pay event fee at check-in registration on the day of the event, and make checks payable to “Alpha Phi Omega”.  Preregistration is necessary for class limitations and lunch orders.

 

MERIT BADGE PREREGISTRATION: Scouts may register for "1" All Day merit badge class OR  up to "2" half day classes (Session A and/or B)

 

Event Schedule:

7:15 AM-1:30 PM - Registration

[Table Closes At Start of Session B]

8:15 AM- 8:30 AM - Opening Ceremony

8:30-Noon - Merit Badge Session A

12:15-1 PM - LUNCH

1:15-4:45 - Merit Badge Session B

5 PM - Pickup


 

Merit Badges Offered: 

American Labor  [ Session A Only ]
Session A, Requirements Covered – 1, 3, 4, 6 & 8
(5, 7 & 9 can be discussed with counselor if completed prior)

Automotive Maintenance [ Sessions A & B ]

Session A, Requirements Covered – Entire Badge Will Be Completed
Session B, Requirements Covered – Entire Badge Will Be Completed 
   
 
Communication [ Sessions A & B ]
Session A, Requirements Covered - 1 c, 2 a/b & 3
Session B, Requirements Covered - 7a & 9 (4 & 5 can be discussed if completed prior)
 
Emergency Preparedness [ All Day Badge ]
To complete badge, Scouts should have Prerequisites 1, 2c, 6c, 8b completed prior.
 
Environmental Science [ Session A Only ]
Requirements Covered – 3, 4, 5 & 6
(Any incomplete requirement can be completed through follow-up contact with the counselor)
 
 
Geology [ All Day Badge ]
CAPPED AT 13 SCOUTS
Entire badge will be covered. Session B includes an off-site visit to the Kyanite Mining Corporation in Dillwyn, transportation will be provided at no additional cost. A waiver form is required for participation and will be provided ahead of the event, as well as being available at on-site registration day of. Scouts MUST BRING hiking boots or steel-toed boots to participate in the afternoon session.
 
 
Golf [ Session A Only ]
Requirements Covered – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 – 7 (Weather permitting)
 
Scouts registering for Golf are invited, but not required, to bring their own clubs.
If bringing your own clubs, only a wedge, iron, wood & putter are needed.
 
 
Personal Fitness [ Session A ]
Requirement 1 is a prerequisite to all other badge requirements!
Session A, Requirements Covered – 2, 3, 4 5, 6 & 7 (9 can be discussed with counselor if completed prior)
 
Personal Management [ Session B Only ]
Requirements Covered – 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 & 10 (2 & 9 can be discussed with counselor if completed prior)
 
Public Speaking [ Session A Only ]
Requirements Covered – 1 or 2 (Scout preference) & 3
 
Robotics [ All Day Badge ]
CAPPED AT 16 SCOUTS
Entire badge will be covered. Scouts should arrive on campus already familiar with merit badge pamphlet material and prepared to discuss all
material-related requirements.
 
Soil and Water Conservation [ Session B Only ]
Requirements Covered – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6
(7 can be completed through follow-up contact with counselor)
 
Swimming [ All Day Badge ]
CAPPED AT 16 SCOUTS
Requirements Covered – Entire badge will be covered, based on the counselors on-site evaluation of the Scout’s ability to successfully complete the BSA swimmer test and all related requirements.
 
Theater [ Session A Only ]
Requirements Covered – 4, 5 & 6
 
 
Boxed Lunch Options: Roast Beef & Provolone, Turkey & Swiss or Garden Vegetable & Cheese.   Please contact the event coordinators at apombd@gmail.com with questions regarding dietary restrictions or concerns.
 

Cost:  $15 per Boy Scout, $10 per Adult Scout Leader.  Cost includes boxed lunch.

Registration for this event closes on Monday, 4/17. Representatives from Alpha Phi Omega will contact you after event registration closes with directions to campus, parking and event information.
