Check in will run from 8:00 to 8:30 with the program beginning right at 8:30.   

The Virginia War Memorial will be offering four merit badges on Saturday, March 24th.

 

Merit Badge Offerings 

 

American Heritage

Prerequisites:

-Be prepared to talk about your family’s genealogy (Requirement 3c).
-Please read the merit badge pamphlet before attending.

 

Citizenship in the Community

Prerequisites:

            -Do 3a and be ready to discuss experience (3b) with the class.
            -Do 4a and 4b and be ready to discuss 4c in class.
            -Complete 7a, bring something to show completed for 7b, show proof you
              volunteered at least 8 hours for 7c Bring your presentation on the important
              and unique aspects of your community to camp for 8.

            -Please read the merit badge pamphlet before attending.

 

Citizenship in the Nation

Prerequisites:

            -Visit one of the places mentioned in 2b, 2c or do 2d
            -Req 3 - watch evening news or read a newspaper for 5 days
            -Req 8 - write a letter your US Congressman - bring the letter in a stamped and addresses unsealed envelope so it can be reviewed
            -Please read the merit badge pamphlet before attending.

 

Citizenship in the World

Prerequisites:

-Requirements 3 & 7

-Please read the merit badge pamphlet before attending.

Merit Badge counselors are needed.  Please email Jason Reedy at  JReedy72@comcast.net if you are a merit badge counselor for an offered merit badge and would like to help.

This program is not intended for a whole Troop to run their Scouts through it.  

Each scout may register for "one" merit badge.

Cancellation Policy
In the case of death of an immediate family member, sickness or injury, or a military transfer we will refund all monies paid for Scouts. The Council must be informed in writing by March 25, 2018 because of the nature of the event. Please email Mr. George Smith directly at George.Smith@scouting.org .
