Merit Badge Program

Order of the Arrow Karakona Chapter 19 and Crater District invites your unit to the Merit Badge Camporee being held at Albright’s Scout Reservation.  The staff has worked hard to present a quality weekend merit badge program that will be attractive to all scouts, including those who are looking for opportunities to complete badges required for Eagle Scout.

Please read this leaders’ guide carefully so your scouts will be able to take full advantage of this program.

The following is a list of tentative merit badges:

Art **                                       Basketry **                 Citizenship in the Nation *

Coin Collecting*                    First Aid*                     Fishing

Leatherwork **                      Metalwork **              Model Design **

Music **                                  Plumbing*                         Scouting Heritage *

Textile **                                 Traffic Safety *

* NOTE:  The above merit badges will require scouts to complete pre-requisites before the Merit Badge Camporee.  Pre-requisites are listed under each merit badge at back of the guide.  This list is subject to change.  Scoutmasters, please make sure all pre-requisites are completed; scouts will not be able to start a merit badge without the pre-requisites completed.

** NOTE:  These courses require a fee. Scoutmasters must complete and sign blue cards for each scout in their unit, listing name, unit number, district, and name of merit badge.  Blue cards must be filled out in this manner and turned in to the merit badge counselor before taking a merit badge.  Blue cards lacking the above information, will not be accepted by merit badge counselors.   Scoutmasters/Scouts please make sure that you have an adequate supply of blue cards for the weekend. The staff will not have any cards to give out and merit badges cannot be earned without them.
